We did it again! On June 28th and 29th, Real Estate professionals from Long and Foster and friends and family of team members walked to raise funds for cancer research in the American Cancer Society's 7th Annual Relay for Life at the Pennsbury High School track in Fairless Hills, PA. Team members, Doris & Diane Greeley along with family and friends came out to show support for the relay. Thanks again to all who sponsor a team member in this event. Our team has raised over $12,000 to date.
How
it works.
This is a 24-hour event starting at 11:00am Saturday
and ending at 11:00am on Sunday.
We try to have a team of 10 people to walk a minimum of 1 hour
during the 24-hour period. We try to always keep a team member on the track during the 24-hour
event. Prior to the event,
each volunteer reaches out to their friends, family, and community for
sponsorship and tries to raise donations. Our
goal is $3,000 for the entire team. Where and when will it be?
Who
will be walking?
Church groups, businesses, and friends from around the Lower
Makefield/Falls Twp area will be walking. People
under the age of 18 need a guardian to sign a waiver but they are more than
welcome to walk and/or raise funds. Please
recruit people for our team. They
don’t have to be a real estate agent to help out. How do I sign up? The best way to sign up is to register online. Your $10 registration fee can be paid by credit card on this secure website. Or if you prefer, let me know if you are interested by either calling me at (215) 932-2636 or emailing me at ajscherer@verizon.net. I will send you a registration form and will ask for a tax deductible $10 registration fee made payable to the American Cancer Society. At that time you can let me know which one or two hour time frame you would like to walk. How do I raise funds?The easiest way to reach your sponsors is to send out an email to friends, family, and co-workers from your American Cancer Society website. If you register online, you'll be prompted to design (if you wish) your website. There are links on your website that tell you how to send that email out to your list. If you require assistance in doing this, please let me know and I'll help you set up your website. Another way is to send out a letter to friends and family telling them what you're doing, why, and how they can help. Request they send you their tax deductible donation made out to the American Cancer Society. I'll set up certain times prior to the event to collect and turn in your donations. You’ll also receive a coupon book to record any tax deductible donations.
If you can’t walk, don’t let that stop
you from raising funds or if you don’t want to raise funds, don’t let that
